GLO-ARCH marks the beginning of a series of explorative projects that delve into the representation of globalization through diverse mediums, including visual, physical, printed, sculptural, and interactive forms. This inaugural project is a large-scale installation that takes the shape of a giant puzzle, symbolizing the interconnected pieces that have contributed to the globalized concept of architectural history.

The puzzle metaphorically examines the evolution of the International Style, a movement characterized by its universal design language transcending geographical boundaries. Each puzzle piece represents the varied influences and elements that have been woven together to create a global architectural identity.

The project incorporated various techniques to bring the installation to life, each contributing to its conceptual and visual depth. Woodworking played a foundational role, with precision woodcutting used to craft large-scale puzzle pieces, symbolizing the fragmented yet interconnected nature of globalization.

Laser printing was employed to integrate intricate details and patterns into the installation. These elements visually narrated the impact of globalization, weaving in a layer of storytelling through delicate, precise designs.

To enhance the visual impact, painting techniques were utilized, adding texture and color to the pieces. These hand-painted details reflected the diverse aesthetic languages within the International Style, bridging global influences with the project’s narrative.

Finally, a digital and print identity was developed to promote the installation. This cohesive branding used graphic design principles to unify the visual and conceptual elements of the project, ensuring the messaging aligned seamlessly with its artistic and thematic goals.

The puzzle encourages engagement, allowing viewers to explore the tangible connections between architecture and globalization. Through its scale and detail, the installation fosters a sense of discovery and dialogue, offering a multi-sensory experience that blends physical craftsmanship with conceptual depth.

GLO-ARCH I is both an artistic statement and a conversation starter, inviting audiences to reexamine the narratives of globalization in architecture and their enduring impact on design across the world.
