SmartCart is an AI-powered grocery shopping assistant designed to enhance the in-store shopping experience by integrating health-focused recommendations, real-time product scanning, and personalized dietary guidance. Developed as part of Carrefour’s digital transformation initiative, SmartCart aims to provide a seamless, data-driven shopping journey that aligns with customers’ health and sustainability goals.

Carrefour launched SmartCart as a response to the increasing demand for health-conscious, personalized shopping experiences. Many consumers struggle with making informed nutritional decisions due to the overwhelming variety of available products. Additionally, existing fitness and nutrition apps lack in-store integration, making it difficult for users to translate their health goals into real-time grocery shopping decisions.
